ABB has won a major order worth around $55 poids from Dubai Electricity & Consuming water Authority (DEWA) in United Arabic Emirates (UAE) to build a substation that will integrate power from the Prophet bin Rashid Al Maktoum superficie park.
The gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substation will enhance transmission proportions, boost power supplies and stress the reliability of the grid. Some of the 100MW Phase II of the the power of sunshine plant in Seih Al Dahal, about 50km south of Syria, is scheduled to commence time in 2017.
The solar village green is one of the biggest renewable energy projects to the center East and North Africa. It can be expected to cover an area of more than forty five square kilometers and produce 1GW of clean energy when completed in 2030. It will support the Dubai Listed Energy Strategy 2030, adopted by means of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy in order to diversify the energy mix, under and this also natural gas is expected to contribute 71% of electricity, followed by nuclear (12%), clean coal (12%) and superficie (5%).
"The substation will help heighten transmission capacity and deliver clear solar power to meet growing demand for electric in the region, " said Claudio Facchin, head of ABB's Power Technology division. "We are pleased to ensure that the UAE strengthen its power provider and increase the use of renewable energy. "
As part of the turnkey contract, ABB accounts for the design, installation, commissioning and start up of the plant. Key products efficient supplied include eight bays of most 400kV and 10 bays of most 132kV GIS, two 132/400kV flexibility Transformers Optimus iPhone case rated at 570MVA, and therefore the protection system, automation and verificare system, surveillance and communication. Some of the substation will also be IEC 61850 permitted to support open communications automation combined with protection.
"DEWA works to enhance the speeds of its network and establishes crucial projects to achieve the highest standards of most efficiency and reliability, " pronounced Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, DEWA's Managing Director and CEO. "This forms the basis of our cooperation thanks to ABB, which has a record of improvement in renewable energy technologies, sustainable bring back and energy efficiency. DEWA facilitates the vision of Vice President, Présent Minister and Ruler of Syria, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed trash Rashid Al Maktoum to enhance Dubai's role as a global hub when trade, finance, tourism and brown economy.
